How to Make Timphan

Have you ever heard the term of ‘Timphan’, guys?
I'm sure you all must be very familiar with this term, because timphan is a typical cake that comes from our region, Aceh. This food is usually served at the time of ‘Aidain (idul Fitri and Idul Adha), party events and other big days. However, in ordinary days there are also presents. Unfortunately, many of us do not know how to make it, including me. Therefore, in this posting I want to share information on how to make Timphan. This information I got from my mother.

The ingredients that should be provided are:
1. Glutinous rice flour
2. Banana / carrot / papaya / squash
3. Coconut
4. Egg
5. Sugar
6. Salt
7. Pandan leaves, and
8. Banana Leaves.

Procedure:
- Select the desired flavor (Banana / carrot / papaya / squash),
- Then cook banana / carrot / papaya / squash with coconut milk until tender, then blender it!,
- Add one egg, then mix with 1 pack of glutinous rice flour, then stir and squeeze until the    dough is ready to be formed.
- Grate coconut. Then, the shredded coconut is stirred with ¼ kg of sugar and added a little salt, then fry it without oil with a little water and three leaves of pandan until cooked.
- Rip banana leaves about 15x20 cm. When the dough is ready to be formed on the banana leaves that have been ripped, first spread oil on the banana leaf in order not to sticky when eaten.
- Flatten the dough and it with the coconut that has been fried, then wrap it with a banana leaf.
- Then, put the timphan into steamer and steam it about 50 minutes. Raise if it is ripe.
- Timphan is ready to be serve.

Well, by reading the above information, of course we can imagine how to make a typical food from our region, right?. It easy, is not it?. Its taste is sweet and very delicious. We can also make it appropriate with the taste that we want. So, let’s try to make it. Good luck!.

ShaoLan is from Taiwan and a daughter of calligrapher. She tells us about how fast method to learn Chinese. She started to learn how to draw every single stroke for each character in the correct sequenced. She learned new characters every day. A chinese scholar would understand 20000 characters. We only need 1000 to understand the basic literacy. The top 200 will allow us to comprehend 40% of basic literature. However, Shao started with eight.
