Activity during in Mecca and Medina

I would like to share about my daily activity during in Mecca and Medinah.
I woke up at 03.00 a.m, then I took a bath. After that I prepared to go to Mesjid Nabawi if I was in Medinah and Mesjidil Haram if I was in Mecca. About 03.30 a.m I went to Mesjid, there I did worship as much as I can. When Subh time was coming, I did subh prayer together in the Mosque. About 07.00 a.m I went back to hotel and had breakfast on the first floor together with my travel group, including the group leader. After had breakfast, if Ustadz invited us to visit some historical places, so we prepared ourselve to go there, but, if no schedule for visiting those places, I went back to my room to take ablution and then went back to the Mosque.
Every entering to the Mosque, I always did Tahiyatul Mesjid prayer two rakaat, then, did other worship until the Dhuhur time was coming. We did Dhuhur prayer together.
About 02.00 p.m after Dhuhur prayer, I went back to hotel to have lunch together with my travel group. Then, I came to my room to take ablution and went back to the Mosque to do Ashr prayer. I still be there until Maghrib. After that, I did Maghrib prayer together. After praying Maghrib I did others worship until Isya’. Then, I did Isya’ prayer. After praying Isya’ I went back to hotel to have dinner together with my travel group. After having dinner, I came to my room and went to bed until 03.00 a.m.

That is my daily activity during in there which focus on worshipping because the main reason to be there is to do worship. How happy am I if I could be there for the long time. I felt very comfortable when I was there. I get closer to Allah and Rasulullah. There is no place which is comfortable if compared with Mecca and Medina. Besides worshipping, in Mecca and Medina also can visit the places which has the historical of Rasulullah. Hopefully, I and you who read my posting could be there again. Aamiin..

After breakfast I take a bath and get ready to go to campus if I have schedule at 8 a.m. My sister’s house where I stay is in Gampong Jawa, a bit far from campus so that I have to leave 30 minutes early. I go to campus by motorcycle. This semester, almost every day the college schedule ends before Dhuhur. After the class is over, I usually do the assignment with my close friends. We do it in the coffee shop. But, before we go there, we do Dhuhr prayer and lunch together in one of my friends’ rental house. We usual...

Patricia Kuhl tells about a mother in India speaks Koro which is a newly-discovered language. She is talking to her baby. What this mother and the 800 people who speak Koro in the world understand that to preserve this language they need to speak it to the babies because babies and children are geniuses until they turn seven years old. The first critical period in development is the period where babies master which sound is used in their language. There are two things going on during the critical two month period, the first is that the babies are listening intently to us and they are taking statistics as they listen to us talk. Babies are sensitive to the statistics. For example, two mothers speaking motherese to the kids, English and Japanese. So, when babies listen, the babies are taking statistics on the language that they hear. The statistics of Japanese and English is very different. English has a lot of R and L. Whereas the group of intermediates sounds in Japanese is known as t...

Summary of 'The Enchanting Music of Sign Language' by Christine Sun Kim

Christine Sun Kim was born deaf. She is an artist. In his talk, she shares about the history of ASL and a bit of her background. French sign language was brought to America during the early 1800s and as time went by mixed with local signs, it evolved into the language we know today as ASL. Sun Kim was taught to believe that sound wasn’t part of her life. In contrast, sound was very much a part of her life. As a deaf person, Kim understand sound through watching how people behave and respond to sound. The people are like her loudspeaker and amplify sound. At the same time, she have learned to create sound ‘sound atiquette’  and seen how people respond to her. In Deaf culture, movement is equivalent to sound.
